Birth Doula Support

After listening to the birth stories of so many friends and reading all I could about positive birth experiences, it seemed to me that having a doula would be an important way to feel empowered as a birthing woman. I had just moved to Switzerland when I got pregnant, so I was extremely fortunate to get the name of Gisela through the doula of my sister-in-law who actually lives in Atlanta. I interviewed a few doulas, but I felt that Gisela was the one right away, and she turned out to be an even better guide than I could have imagined.


Gisela is a cultivated person, sensitive and extremely intelligent. She gave me so much great information throughout my pregnancy, resources and practices that eased the fear and anxiety that I had about labor. When during the final weeks I had several prodromal labor incidents, Gisela was there to guide me through navigating my encounters with midwives and physicians.


During the labor Gisela was my rock. She tuned in when I was losing confidence, helped me catch my breath, and kept me focused on the moment. I had an incredible water birth and Gisela was the perfect energy in the room, always helping me to find the right position, or finding ways to make the pain a little less, or reminding me that I was actually doing this!


In the end, I gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Despite my labor being quite short and overall very positive, I still struggled with flashbacks of the pain for a few weeks afterwards. When Gisela came to visit for her postnatal check-in, we had a beautiful conversation and Gisela, as usual, said something very elegant and wise and helped me to reframe that pain into something meaningful. My birth experience, with a lot of thanks to Gisela, has given me a newfound confidence in my body and an unexpected connection to its intelligent design.


I will be forever in awe of the birth experience that I had with my daughter, and to Gisela's support throughout my pregnancy journey. Her calm, intuition, intelligence, and spiritual intention were always palpable, and for that I am infinitely grateful.

Gisela leads her classes with effortless flow and peaceful energy. As a participant, I felt encouraged to tap into my natural power and listen to my body in ways I never previously explored. She accompanied me on my journey through birth preparation to recovery, and I am deeply thankful for the positive and calm sessions with her, during which I came to understand my maternal body much better. My baby also grew to love the postnatal classes, as Gisela smoothly adapted her program to fit the little ones’ needs from moment to moment.

I would like to extend a special and BIG thanks to our yoga teacher Gisela for your guidance and lessons, specially the movements and breathing exercises. They were very helpful and allowed me to stay focused and to cope with all that came during birth.


In the last trimester of my pregnancy I joined the birth preparation yoga classes that Gisela offers. The preparation was great for my physical and mental condition. Gisela regularly points out the various benefits of the demonstrated postures and movements. She always comes back to concrete advice on which movement can help your baby and yourself while in labour. The breathing techniques, and the positive mantras are giving lots of strength and boost one's self-confidence. After each class I felt strong, positive and ever-readier to give birth to my baby.

I was amazed to feel how all the techniques I learned in the class actually did help me and my baby during labour.

Many thanks to Gisela for the great classes and support. And to all moms-to-be around: my best advice to you is to join this class and trust in your strength, as a woman there is much more you can achieve than you would ever think.

Eigentlich zum Fertility Yoga-Kurs angemeldet, stellte ich sehr schnell fest, dass ich schwanger bin.

Somit hatte ich das Glück, den Kurs von Gisela auch in der frühen Phase meiner Schwangerschaft voll auszukosten.

Mit ihrer einfühlsamen und sympathischen Art führt sie durch eine langsame, aber doch kräftigende Praxis mit gezielter Atemarbeit und vor allem viel Entspannung.

Durch diesen tollen Kurs konnte ich, trotz einiger Schwangerschaftsbeschwerden, den Anfang dieser besonderen Zeit geniessen.

Zudem konnte ich von Giselas langjähriger Erfahrung als Yoga-Lehrerin und Mutter profitieren.

Jetzt freue ich mich sehr, auch am Prenatal Kurs teilnehmen zu können.


Ich möchte mich ganz herzlich für die Yogastunden während meiner Schwangerschaft und in der Rückbildung bedanken. Ich habe mich immer sehr gefreut, hinzugehen und es hat mir sehr gut getan. Du hast immer eine gute Stimmung geschaffen und auch mein Baby hat es sehr lustig gefunden. 

Ich komme sehr gerne beim nächsten Kind wieder zu dir ins Yoga.
